What We Believe
Stone’s Throw Church exists to glorify God through the creation of disciples whose lives are transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ who come as they are and go as Jesus says.
It is all about Jesus. The chief purpose of humanity and creation is to glorify God. We are God-centered and His glory is ultimate. The transformation of an individual is an event and a process. The event is the time at which a person becomes a believer in Christ and places their faith in the work of Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection. The process is the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer as they grow in grace and truth. Our goal is not transformation by any means but by the gospel. People's behavior can be changed by a multitude of things, but we desire to see change as a result of the gospel's work in a person's life. This change alone results in a right standing with God. The gospel, simply put, is this: Out of love, Jesus Christ died for all of our sins and was victoriously raised to life three days later to restore our relationship to God and give us eternal life.
The mission of the church as a whole is to glorify God by making disciples through the gospel. We as the church, have been made a people of God's own choosing for his purpose of redemption to be agents of reconciliation to a lost and broken world through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our mission at Stone's Throw Church is to reach unchurched and dechurched people, tell them about Jesus, and mobilize them to change the world for Christ as disciples. We seek to do this through gospel-centric worship
and gospel-centric community
